2026 PSBH Problemthon and Solvethon Global Challenge

2026 PSBH Problemthon and Solvethon Global Challenge Course is jointly organized by Taipei Medical University, Tatung University, Soochow University, National Taipei University of Education, Chang Jung Christian University, Fu Jen Catholic University, the University of Nottingham (UK), Bond University (Australia), UCSI University (Malaysia), and INTI Center of Art & Design, INTI International College Subang (Malaysia). Enrollment is open to students across the University System of Taipei (USTP) and the Excellent Long-Established University Consortium of Taiwan (ELECT).

For the first time, the program integrates two benchmark high schools driving innovative international education in Taiwan: Taipei Municipal Xisong High School, Taiwan's first public institution accredited to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and Hua Wen Global Institute, the first to adopt the Minerva Baccalaureate (MBacc) curriculum, designed by Minerva University, ranked as the world's most innovative university.

The strong international and inter-universities faculty team work with field experts from Taipei Medical University affiliated hospitals, social institutions, and educational institutions to provide students with lectures and insights of the problems in the fields. We especially invite youth dream mentors who finished training in PSBH 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0, PGY interns, and Stanford Biodesign GFIT international mentors, as well as Dr. Barry Smith from Dreyfus Health Policy & Research Center (DHPRC) in the United States, to accompany you for this special learning journey. They are all your best guides and inspirations in your journey to solving problems for better health. We hope that you will find new solutions to real-world challenges, collaborate across disciplines, and create a better world together.

Which enables us to continue our focus on solving real-world problems. The PSBH methodology emphasizes the key points and spirit of "solving real-world field problems that can be accomplished through our strength, teamwork, and learning, with limited resources and maximum benefits, and everyone can contribute!" The PSBH spirit also emphasizes the effectiveness of cultivating everyone as a problem solver. By making progress daily, one can be 37 times stronger in a year. During the four-day process, the mentors and field experts will lead the students to conduct field visits in the real world, share the real-world status and pain points of the field, and emphasize the real solutions that can improve the field problems. The solution is expected to have "commercial potential" or "social impact." The solution is prioritized for those who can improve the urgent problems in the field in a short period. The course will also teach students to use research methods to estimate the preliminary expected results of field problems, solution design, and solutions.

During the four-day hackathon, over 100 faculty members, industry experts, and youth generation mentor have been working together to provide a rich and rewarding learning experience. To implement the SDGs in our program, we have specially prepared sustainable healthy gifts, and blockchain digital signature training certificates for you. We are grateful for the support from the participating universities, the Ministry of Education, and the sponsors, including Farglory Foundation, VP Foundation, Taishang Resource International Group, and Gameboss Digital Entertainment.

Thanks to all the generous support, we have provided a rich and interactive learning experience for all participants. All participants who complete the entire hackathon will receive a joint training certificate from the participating schools and will be able to earn credits for the course before the start of the semester. The four-day hackathon, with 500 students and teachers participating and 36,000 hours of investment, will catalyze innovation that will change the world.

We also look forward to inviting those who have completed the PSBH 1.0 challenge to join the PSBH 2.0 and 3.0 courses project teams after the semester starts. Together, we can continue working towards a better world as problem solvers committed to real-world impact. When we meet again, we will create even more serendipitous surprises.
