Is cancer a death sentence? Maybe not. Many people may consider cancer as death sentence with no cure. Just like HIV infection which led to almost certain death on emergence of AIDS 20 year ago. However, with innovated medical drug development and advanced scientific research, HIV infection has become a chronic disease for those fortunate enough to afford access to antiretroviral therapy. How can we copy the success story of HIV toward cancer treatment? In this presentation, I will talk about the recent drug development in oncology and discuss some of the practical issues in designing/conducting clinical trial with examples. Future trend in oncology drug development will also be provided.
