| 活動說明 | 【拇山生物醫學研究講座】 演講者：陳瑞華 特聘研究員 （中央研究院生物化學研究所） 演講題目：Protein ubiquitination in regulating brain malignancy and development 演講時間：108年6月13日（四）上午10:00-12:00 演講地點：醫綜影樓前棟四樓誠樸廳 【演講摘要】 Protein ubiquitination controls a variety of cellular processes and disease states. Our previous study identified a brain-enriched deubiquitinating enzyme USP11 capable of targeting the tumor suppressor PML to promote its stability. In glioblastoma multiforme （GBM）, this deubiquitination event is downregulated due to Notch-induced repression of USP11. Consequently, PML is degraded to potentiate the malignancies of GBM tumor cells and the stemness of GBM initiating cells. In addition to the pathological roles, our current study has revealed the function of USP11 in cerebral cortex development. Our findings highlight a new concept for the importance of integrating posttranslational regulation into the transcriptional network to achieve a robust protein induction during brain development. This aspect will be discussed in detail in my presentation. |
